Sabato 7 giugno, Palermo, Casa Preti annuncia la nuova collaborazione con Claire Fontaine intitolata “Capitalism”.

Uno spazio, un tempo, per raccogliersi e comprendere che il capitalismo siamo noi. Ispirato a un iconico manifesto del ’68 stampato a Parigi agli Atelier delle Beaux Arts, in cui vediamo la scritta “capitalismo” crollare sotto il calcio di un operaio che sogna, come tutti I giovani della sua generazione, un mondo più giusto, più bello, più equo. La parola rappresenta una figura maschile fatta di lettere e segni del potere, senza organi e senza volto. Il nemico – oggi come ieri - non è un individuo ma un sistema, quello che, come leggiamo sullo stesso manifesto, bisogna abbattere.

Le nostre soggettività, i nostri rapporti, sono frutto di questo sistema che se fosse radicalmente trasformato cambierebbe anche tutti noi. Il capitalismo siamo noi perché nei nostri corpi, nei nostri gesti, nei nostri desideri lo riproduciamo, non solo tramite il lavoro e lo scambio del denaro, ma rinunciando a credere negli altri e in ciò che ci unisce, rifiutando di trasformarci e di essere creativi con le nostre vite.

Insieme possiamo immaginare un sabotaggio della forma di vita che ci vuole produttivi, adattabili, funzionali, dimentichi del nostro corpo e del nostro cuore, incapaci di lottare per la pace e di proteggere chi è vittima dell’oppressione.

In occasione della vigilia delle votazioni referendarie in Italia, nel solco del ragionamento iniziato con la collezione “Ex Voto”, presenta a settembre in occasione di MFW, la collaborazione tra Casa Preti e Claire Fontaine che vi invitano a sospendere la disperazione per come va il mondo e a dedicare il giusto tempo a noi stessi e agli altri perché noi siamo un altro mondo possibile.

 

On Saturday June the 7th in Palermo, Casa Preti announces a new collaboration with Claire Fontaine entitled “Capitalism”.

A space, a time, to gather and understand that capitalism is us. Inspired by an iconic 1968 poster printed in Paris at the Atelier des Beaux Arts, in which we see the word “capitalism” collapse under the kick of a worker who dreamt, like all the young people of his generation, of a fairer, more beautiful, more equitable world. The word represents a male figure made of letters and signs of power, without organs and without a face. The enemy – today as yesterday – is not an individual but a system, which, as we read on the same poster, must be torn down.

Our subjectivities, our relationships, are the result of this system that if it were radically transformed would also change all of us. Capitalism is us because we reproduce it in our bodies, in our gestures, in our desires, not only through work and through the exchange of money, but by giving up believing in others and in what unites us, by refusing to transform ourselves and to be creative with our lives.

Together we can imagine a sabotage of the form of life that wants us productive, adaptable, functional, forgetful of our bodies and our hearts, incapable of fighting for peace and protecting those who are victims of oppression.

On the eve of the referendum vote in Italy, in the wake of the reasoning that begun with the “Ex Voto” collection, in September, on the occasion of MFW, we present the collaboration between Casa Preti and Claire Fontaine and invite you to suspend the despair for how the world is going and to dedicate a special time to ourselves and to others, because we are another possible world.
